One Room Challenge Kickoff: Transforming Our Hallway

Yep. I’m doing it. For the first time ever.

The Better Homes and Gardens Spring One Room Challenge started yesterday and I’m so excited to see all the makeovers and connect with such talented and creative people. Make sure to pop over and see all the incredible work! I’m gonna make over this hallway! It’s one area Of my home that I haven’t touched at all since we bought this house 3 years ago and it’s in desperate need.

It’s blah and boring and gloomy and I’m about to make it POP. Follow along in the fun on Instagram!

Here is my mood board.

Yep. That’s a smoke detector. The current one just hangs there and doesn’t work. I don’t know why I’ve left it for so long 😂

I am doing a faux wallpaper with stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils and an extra little snake stencil I found on Etsy. I’m still trying to narrow down the colors I want to use. The light fixture is from Illuminate Vintage and I am absolutely obsessed.

Here are some glamorous before shots:

To do:

  • Scrape ceiling

  • Paint ceiling

  • Paint doors and baseboards

  • Stencil stencil STENCIL

  • New light fixture

  • New door knobs

  • Smoke detector that ACTUALLY WORKS

  • Maybe a rug?

WHO’S READY?!
